The Interlake Community Foundation provides the citizens of Rockwood, Rosser, Stonewall, Teulon and Woodlands the opportunity to invest in the future of their community and region forever.


The Interlake Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the communities of the RM of Rockwood, RM of Woodlands, RM of Rosser, Town of Stonewall and the Town of Teulon. We started in 1994, and now have just over $1,000,000 in assets. Our volunteer board provide grants to local charities for projects that help our residents and the deadline to apply is February 28 of each year. We administer scholarships and bursaries. Foundation Funds

The Lorne And Irene Ferley Endowment Fund Funds two awards, the Lorne Ferley Scholarship and the Michael Ferley Bursary, both for graduates of Teulon Collegiate Institute.
The Beck Family Fund Will fund a scholarship and also a grant to be used on a project in the Town of Stonewall.
The Janet Kuchma Scholarship Fund Will fund a scholarship for a student of Teulon Collegiate.
The Ben And Marjorie King Memorial Scholarship Fund Awarded to a graduate of Warren Collegiate. A part of the criteria to receive this award is individual involvement and contribution to the community.
Michael A. Lindell Automotive Scholarship Fund This award began as a tribute to Michael Lindell, who passed away following a car accident and would have graduated in the year 2004.
The Reverend Barry Grant Rasmussen Memorial Scholarship Fund This scholarship is awarded to a student who not only has good academic standing but volunteers and is involved in their church, community and school.
Dave & Annette Unrau Award Will fund an award for a student at Stonewall Collegiate Institute. Student has shown improvement during the year (either in behaviour or marks).
Percy & Mary Durham Fund Established by a bequest from the Estate of Mary Durham, this fund supports projects in the Stony Mountain area.
The G.M. Willis Family Scholarship Fund George Willis and his family have started a new scholarship fund.
Teulon Hunter Memorial Health District Fund This fund annually provides grants to the Teulon Hunter Memorial Health District for a health-related project.
Stonewall Family Foods Fund Dave Kalnuk, owner of Stonewall Family Foods, started this fund to benefit non-profits in the area.
Helen & Herbert Kletke Fund This fund makes grants to projects in the Teulon area.
Nell Smith Endowment Fund The Nell Smith Endowment fund is unrestricted and was a bequest from the Estate of Nell Smith.
Lauritz and Georgina Jensen Fund This fund was started by Lloyd Jensen to create a permanent legacy for his parents and is unrestricted.
The Leona and Larry Baker Fund This fund was started by the Baker family upon the passing of Leona. It is unrestricted.
Stonewall Collegiate Youth in Philanthropy Fund This fund was established to fund the Stonewall Collegiate YIP group’s grants.
Warren Collegiate Youth in Philanthropy Fund This fund was established to fund the Warren Collegiate YIP group’s grants.
Teulon Collegiate Youth in Philanthropy Fund This fund was established to fund the Teulon Collegiate YIP group’s grants.
Donna Jensen Endowment Fund The Donna Jensen Endowment Fund is an agency fund that will benefit the Association for Community Living-Interlake in perpetuity.
Manitoba Pool District 802 (Retired) Scholarship Fund This fund was transferred in and funds an award to a student at Warren Collegiate.
Teulon Collegiate Alumni Scholarship Fund This fund was established to make awards to a student at Teulon Collegiate.
Jennifer Jensen Memorial Fund – Library Support This fund will provide an annual grant to the South Interlake Regional Library – Stonewall Branch.
Jennifer Jensen Memorial Fund – Education Support This fund will provide an annual grant to the Interlake School Division for classroom or library support at Bobby Bend or Centennial Schools.
Jennifer Jensen Memorial Fund – Dialysis Support This fund will provide an annual grant to Interlake Eastern Health Foundation with to support the Dialysis program at Selkirk Hospital. Jennifer had spent numerous hours in dialysis.
Jennifer Jensen and Kelsey Moeller Brown Scholarship This fund will provide an annual scholarship for a graduate of Stonewall Collegiate entering nursing, or alternatively, any medical field as decided by the SCI Awards Committee. Kelsey was Jennifer’s best friend.
Guttman Family Fund An Unrestricted Fund. Granting is decided by the ICF Grants Committee.
Abby Lee Anne Margetts Memorial Fund Abby Lee Anne Margetts passed away in a tragic accident in January, 2019. Her parents, Amanda and Ryan, have decided to create a permanent legacy to honour her memory. An annual scholarship called the Abby Margetts Memorial Arts Scholarship goes to a graduating student at Warren Collegiate. The winning student must be involved in the area of visual arts, choral music, culinary arts or dramatic arts. The winner must be proficient, dedicated and skilled to excel.
Badger Daylighting-CLI Fund A designated fund that will benefit Community Living Interlake. Once the Fund reaches a balance of $5000, there will be an annual grant made to Community Living Interlake.
Ryan Grandmont Memorial Fund Funds raised from the Ryan Grandmont Golf Tournament will be added to the fund annually. The fund will support the Ryan Grandmont Memorial Scholarships and will have 3 awards: 2 at Stonewall Collegiate and one at Ecole Edward Schreyer in Beausejour.
Bryan Lefley Memorial Fund Bryan Andrew Lefley (October 18, 1948 – October 28, 1997) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach. He appeared in 228 National Hockey League games and later played in Europe. He was born in Grosse Isle, Manitoba. After his playing days, he coached in Europe until his death in a car accident in 1997 in Bolzano, Italy. There are three awards of $1000 each made to graduating high school students from the Interlake Scholl Division and an annual $500 award to South West District Palliative Care.
Harry J. Enns Oak Hammock Marsh Fund The Manitoba government has established a $6 million endowment fund to support the Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre, now renamed the Harry J. Enns Wetland Discovery Centre. The provincial contribution to the fund will generate approximately $270,000 annually to support the interpretive centre, a 20 per cent increase over the previous provincial operating grant. The new endowment funding model will provide permanent, stable funding to support the interpretive centre and builds upon $1.5 million in provincial funds committed earlier this year to support upgrades to the facility.
The Warren Collegiate Alumni Fund This fund was started in 2019 as a tribute to the class of 1970. It will fund a scholarship at Warren Collegiate.
Slagerman Family Endowment Fund Murray and Emma Slagerman have challenged local businesses to donate to the ICF. They kicked it off with a matching donation of $2500.00 that will go into the Slagerman Family Endowment Fund. This fund is unrestricted, which means that the income from the fund can be used for any worthwhile cause as determined by the ICF. They are the owners of Ki Mobility and they have challenged other local business owners to make donations to the ICF. Their challenge of matching, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 is open until December 31, 2020. Contact us for more information.

Foundation Highlights

Pilot Fund for Gender Equality
We were the only Manitoba Foundation to participate in the Pilot Fund for Gender Equality. We partnered with Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada and provided a grant of $25,000 to put on a 2 day workshop with a focus on Equality. We have just signed on for the second phase of granting with the program, and will grant out another $60,000 by the end of 2020.

Emergency Community Support Fund
And, if that’s not enough, we are participating in the Emergency Community Support Fund grant program, and have already granted $40,000 and we have another $30,000 available to be awarded by the end of November 2020. We thank the Government of Canada for making this program available.$4000 to RM of Rockwood/Age Friendly Stonewall for project “Keep in Touch”

  • $4000 to Association for Community Living Interlake Branch Project Family Meeting Shelters
  • $10,000 to Green Acres Art Centre/Town of Teulon for 2020 summer camps that met COVID-19 requirements
  • $3500 to Teulon and District Seniors Resource Council Inc. for meal and grocery delivery program
  • $1450 to South Interlake Regional Library Inc. for “Taking the Library’s Programming Virtual.”
  • $2950 to South Interlake Regional Library Inc for PPE (Plexiglas barriers) for both branches
  • $3000 to Teulon & District Handivan Service. Funds for PPE for passengers of the service.
  • $3410 to the RM of Woodlands/Rosser Woodlands Rec Commission Funds to help with extra day camp costs due to COVID-19.
  • $3250 to South West District Palliative Care for their iPad lending library for palliative patients
