To enhance and enrich the quailty of life in Portage la Prairie and District by supporting and promoting philanthropy through endowment building, donor services, grantmaking and community leadership.

Description

The Community Foundation of Portage and District is a public foundation serving the charitable needs of donors and grant seekers alike in the City and RM of Portage la Prairie. The contributions of donors, from all walks of life, are pooled into permanent, income earning endowment funds which continue to grow in order to provide funding for local community priorities for many years to come.

Burnside Cemetery FundThe Burnside Cemetery Fund was established to support the perpetual care for the cemetery.
John & Maureen Mitchell Family FundThe Mitchell Family created the fund to help them contribute to the betterment of our community. Proceeds support Special Olympics MB & CPCS.
Oakville Cemetery FundThe Oakville Cemetery Fund was established to support the perpetual care for the cemetery.
Oakville Community Endowment FundThe Oakville Village Committee created this fund in 2007 to help fund projects in Oakville as well as support sports & other recreational activities.
Arlan Asham Award FundThis bursary is awarded to a PCI graduate each year who is dedicated & committed to multiple school teams over their high school years.
Gage Foster Athletic Scholarship FundIn 2018 Gage Foster lost his life in a car accident. This fund was established in his memory and to celebrate his love of participating in many sports.
Southport FundThe Southport Fund was created in 2015 by Southport Aerospace and supports the Foundations Smart & Caring Community Fund Grant program annually.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Auna-Marie Brown Memorial FundIn 2021, Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Plains (BBBS) created an Agency Fund in honour of long time Board Member and community volunteer Auna-Marie Brown. The investment income from the fund supports BBBS annually
Camp Jubilee FundCreated in 2020, the Camp Jubilee Fund supports Christian Camps with subsidizing camp registration fees for under privileged children or for those who cannot afford to attend camp.
Fort la Reine Heritage Trust FundThe Fort la Reine Museum Heritage Trust Fund was created in 2019 with support from the Manitoba Heritage Trust Program. The program was designed to help local museums and archives build financial capacity. Annually the investment income earned from the fund is provided to the Fort la Reine Museum to assist with operating and program costs.
