Mission

The mission of The Thompson Community Foundation is to create a growing investment pool of capital resources and use revenue earned by the capital pool to benefit the community of Thompson.

Description

The Thompson Community Foundation is a “savings account” created for the community of Thompson by gifts from local and former citizens, businesses, and community organizations. The funds in this community savings account are never spent. The funds are managed by our foundation to produce an annual return for the community by granting funds to worthwhile community projects.

Foundation Funds

Managed Endowment FundA savings account, interest granted to community projects. By contributing to the Managed Fund, the Foundation will build a solid endowment to support funding needs in the community, today and virtually forever.
Thompson 2018 Manitoba Games FundField of Interest Fund established to support and advance the economic, social, physical and intellectual well-being of children and families. Funds are to assist children and youth through sport, education and community enhancement.
Operational Endowment FundA savings account, interest to cover operational cost of the organization.
Arnold Morberg Memorial ScholarshipFund to assist Northern Manitoba students pursuing careers in aviation. The scholarship will be given for their education in aviation.
Burntwood Jr. Curling Club FundDonor Advised Fund to put towards the Burntwood Junior Curling Club needs.
Kerrie Brown Memorial BursaryFunds from this bursary are granted to the highest grade point average in English graduating from RD Parker Collegiate.
Thompson Health Foundation FundAll proceeds from the funds donated will flow yearly to the Burntwood Regional Health Authority.
CIM ScholarshipThis scholarship was established to assist students pursuing careers in a field that is applicable in the mining, metallurgy or petroleum sector.
Thompson Science Fair FundFunds for Citywide Fair, provide awards, support travel for students selected to represent Thompson at Regional and National Science Fairs.
The Troy Anand FundFunds granted to support charitable activities or charitable organizations as well as the environment sector.
The Northern Social Work Scholarship FundA cash award directed to a student from The University of Manitoba Northern Social Work Program, based on students financial need.
Irene Evelyn Moore FundUnrestricted Fund whose charitable purposes are consistent with the objectives of the foundation.
