Mission

The Brokenhead River Community Foundation is a non-profit organization created to provide financial support to charitable, educational, cultural, and recreational projects which are beneficial to the community.

Description

The Foundation is lead by dedicated community volunteers who endeavour to administer and encourage growth of the Endowment Fund. Community grants, scholarships and bursaries are awarded to projects and groups that serve as many people as possible in a variety of areas of interest and need.

Community FundAn all-purpose fund whose proceeds are used to support local charities and non-profit groups, as well as scholarships and bursaries for graduates living in the Ecole Edward Schreyer School catchment area.
IR+ERHA FundDedication to the support of Beausejour Hospital and East Gate Lodge.
Cherrey Family Trust FundSupporting the town of Beausejour in the following areas of interest:
1. Sports – hockey, curling & figure skating
2. Public spaces – playgrounds & swimming pool
3. Physical activity – walking trails and parks
General EducationSupporting projects at our local schools.
EnvironmentSupporting projects that preserve and protect our local environment.
Edward Schreyer School Boys Basketball ProgramCreated by a local family in their son’s memory to support his favourite school sport.
2006 Winter GamesDeveloped to support games involved in the Winter Games held in Beausejour and area.
Michael Hamende Memorial Minor Hockey FundCreated by the Hamende family to provide an annual benefit to the Beausejour Brokenhead Minor Hockey Association (BBMHA).
Elizabeth Schreyer Archive FundCreated by Edward Schreyer to assist in the preservation of the information from his time as Premier of Manitoba and Governor General of Canada
Brokenhead River Community Foundation Grade 12 Graduating ScholarshipA general fund to support its own scholarships.
Robert Rondeau Memorial Curling ScholarshipTo support a graduate who has excelled at curling and is continuing their education at a post secondary institution.
Ken Matchizen Memorial ScholarshipTo support a graduate continuing their education in any Trade as recognized by the Province of Manitoba.
Beausejour Curling Club ScholarshipTo support a graduate who demonstrates active involvement in the sport of curling.

Eric Lefko Memorial Agricultural BursaryTo support a graduate entering into a post secondary education in any agricultural-related field.
Science BursaryA special bursary, created by a local donor, for students going into a science related field.
Brokenhead-Thalberg North-Mars-Brokenhead East Grade 12 Graduation BursaryCreated by the proceeds of two reunions for four schools north of Beausejour.
